The WGHS Virtual Open House is Thursday, September 23, 2021. All of our teachers, various special area departments, and even PTSA have created videos and materials for you to view at your convenience. The WGHS Virtual Open House Google site will be released at 2:00 PM on Thursday on the West Genesee High School webpage, as well as on social media sites.

Senior Prom Tickets

Prom Ticket
The Senior Prom is scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2021 at SKY Armory from 8:00 PM-11:00 PM. Tickets will be on sale September 20-22 in front of the auditorium. Payments of $40 in check or money order only. No cash. Checks should be made payable to WGCSDSAF. Students will not be allowed to buy tickets for an outside guest unless a guest pass was completed and approved by WGHS administration.

Safety

safety first
Please remind your students to bring a mask to school each day. While we do have extras for those who forget, we are going through them very quickly. Wearing a properly fitted mask is required for all people who enter WGHS. We ask that you remind your students that it is a requirement that the mask is worn over their mouth AND nose at all times. When we are contacted for contact tracing purposes one of the questions is whether or not students were wearing a properly fitted mask. It can be the difference between students having to quarantine or not having to quarantine, according to the Onondaga Department of Health.

In addition, morning drop-off must remain in the front circle. Please do not drop students off on the atrium side of the building. It is very dangerous for students to be crossing the bus line without supervision and it stops the busses from moving quickly through the bus loop. Students must be dropped off in the front circle and enter through the main entrance. The first bell rings at 7:25 AM and class begins promptly at 7:30 AM. Beginning Monday, students must be in their seats by 7:30 AM or they will be directed to the attendance office. Please plan accordingly. Students riding the bus will not be penalized if their bus is late, as they are still working out transportation issues.

Positivity Project at Stonehedge

HS Cheerleaders at ST
I was very excited to have the opportunity to join the WGHS Cheerleaders at Stonehedge Elementary School to kick off the Positivity Project. Students pararaded out to the back field holding signs and they sure did bring the positivity! WGHS cheerleaders lined their route and performed for the crowd before watching as students released their “wishes” (held in bubbles) to the universe. It was a fantastic morning. Thank you Ms. Simmons and Ms. Ratcliff for inviting us!

Have a fantastic weekend! Wishing you all rest and time with your friends and family.

Sincerely,

Tracy Klefbeck, Thomas Vaughan, Gregory Lawson, and Dana Eells
