Weekly Update!

Students honor Tyler
It was an emotional week at WGHS as we learned of the passing of Carthage JV football player, Tyler Christman, following injuries he sustained on our fields last Saturday. Our school community came together and wore red, at the request of our students, to show support for the Christman family and the entire Carthage community. We are heartbroken for their loss, and send them all our wildcat love in hope of offering some comfort during this unimaginable time.

Safety

We are working with the Camillus Police Department to develop a new plan for student drop-offs in the front circle. The safety of our students and staff is our first priority. Once we have a new plan, you will notice additional officers assisting Officer Flint as we get the hang of things. Please pay attention to the directions of the Camillus PD officers. We appreciate your patience and cooperation!

Pajamarama is BACK!

West Genesee High School is joining forces with CNS to raise money for Pediatric Cancer. We have a friendly competition going between our schools along with Liverpool/FM to raise the most money.

Please use the attached link to donate toward such a wonderful cause. Help us unite with CNS to raise the most funds for Paige's Pajamarama!

Congratulations to our Commended Scholars!

Commended Scholars
Congratulations to WGHS seniors Abigail Fassinger and Paul Diem who have been named a Commended Scholar in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program! They are among 34,000 of over a million students who entered the Merit Program by earning high scores on the Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test (PSAT) taken in October of their junior year.

They will be recognized at the Board of Education meeting on November 3, where they will receive a letter of commendation from Board President Kimberly Coyne and Superintendent of Schools David C. Bills.

We are so proud of you both for this amazing accomplishment! #WildcatPride

Tip 411

I want to remind all students and families of our anonymous tip line, WGHS TIPLINE. The tipline can be found on the WGHS website in the “Connect” section. We appreciate those of you who see something and say something. Another thing great about this tip line is that we have the ability to respond and ask follow up questions. If you submit a tip, please check back to see if we are seeking additional information. Thank you for helping to keep our building safe. It takes a village!
