Holiday Break Edition

I want to wish you all a Happy Holiday Season! It is hard to believe that 2019 is coming to a close. As I reflect back on the past four months, I am so proud of our students and proud to be part of the Wildcat Nation. As a new year and decade beckons, I look forward to moving forward with our students and community. Enjoy the coming break and the chance to recharge and refresh with friends and family. Best wishes to you all!

Course Fair

Our annual Course Fair was held on Wednesday, December 18. It was a fantastic opportunity for West Genesee High School students to see the variety of courses that they have access to participate in. Special day with a lot of energy and excitement. Special thanks to Mrs. Klefbeck and her leadership in organizing the fair.

Early Winter Edition

I am not sure how we arrived here, but it is December. In three short weeks we will be at our next break. Where is the year going! Our next five week marking period will rapidly be coming to a close. When we return from the break on January 6, it will be a short run until Mid-terms/Finals.

Semi-Formal Dance Information

Semi ticket sales begins Monday, December 9 and will be sold 7:00 a.m. and during IT outside the auditorium. Ticket sales can be discounted to $10 if students bring a specific food; please see Twitter and school announcements for more information.

Tickets sell out quickly, so get them ASAP. Only current West Genesee students in good standing will be allowed for this dance.

It is important all students know they will need to bring their ID and ticket for admittance. All students need to enter the dance by 8:30 p.m. and the doors are locked at this time.

Students will be assigned doorways to come in based upon their current grade level. Those entrances will be announced next week, as well as signs the evening of to direct students to the proper door.

Students should not bring bags, outside drinks, or refillable water bottles to the dance.

The Semi-Formal Dance is December 14 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

    Safe Driving Reminders for Winter

Remember and share your safe driving tips for winter. Give yourself extra time to arrive at your destination. Clean the snow off of windows, lights, and mirrors for extra visibility- to see and be seen. Allow for more breaking distance between you and the cars in front of you. Finally, in general just slow down to get there safer.

    Pizza Patrol

Our School Resource Officer and Mrs. White are reaching out to get to know more of our students during Pizza Patrol. Be on the lookout during the day when they may show up with pizza and want to meet and chat with students.

No IT Afterschool Friday, December 20

There will be no IT afterschool Friday December 20. Students who do not have a sports practice should depart at the typical end of day dismissal time. Scheduled sports practices and buses will take place as normal.
